Paul Reed had purchased his home a while back and with an electric car on the way, he needed to get a charging solution sorted. The house had been recently rewired when they purchased it but the garage, where the charger was wanted, hadn’t had much attention. We discussed the different options for Paul’s needs, and he decided on a MyEnergi Zappi charger. We love the MyEnergi products and ecosphere, it allows for future green energy options such as solar. A SWA cable was run from the consumer unit in the house to a separate RCBO fitted board in the garage. This met the needs for now along with some space for any future needs. The placement wasn’t our favourite, as we would have preferred to have it further from the door. However, it is secure and still within specification, so Paul decided to have it located where it would be most useful for the garage set up. Paul wanted some new lighting in the garage to replace the old flicking tubes. We recommend some low energy usage LED batons for a better coverage light with lower running costs. To help on dark nights, we installed a PIR sensor so Paul will never be parking in the dark.
